With more than 250,000 sq. ft. of frozen, chilled, and dry warehouse space and 20,000 pallet positions, RLS Logistics offers superior transportation, warehousing, packaging and distribution services. Transportation services are completely integrated with warehousing operations to ensure efficient management of shipments from point of origin to destination. Customers include refrigerated and frozen food processors and marketers, food service distributors, importers, supermarket chains, and shopping clubs. |
Our new 50,000 sq. ft. facility brings our storage capacity to over 250,000 sq. ft. It houses a state-of-the-art USDA inspection room where a USDA inspector assigned to RLS samples and inspects imported foods. "This allows us to store and distribute imported food products and enables us to expand our service portfolio for our customers, many of whom buy product from overseas," explained Anthony M. Leo, President of Warehousing. We also provide temperature- controlled drayage of imported food products to and from ports in the Northeast including Wilmington, Philadelphia and North Jersey. "With this new facility, we are fully equipped to dray and warehouse imported shipments," adds Leo. The new facility also features two tempering rooms, each with a 500-pallet capacity.
Customized Packaging
Our growing customized packaging service includes shrink wrapping, overwrapping, and bundle wrapping. "We also specialize in re-packing," said Robert Curcio, President, Packaging, who has over 20 years experience in food logistics management. "We provide temperature-controlled space for opening goods intended for re-packing, and re-pack them according to our customer's specifications. We have the facilities, the equipment and the work force to provide these kinds of services to both large and small customers. Our primary goal is to enhance their profitability."
With the growth of the internet and e-commerce, product fulfillment services are becoming a major part of our business. "For example," explained Curcio, "We process a significant drop ship volume for television shopping channels. We also provide product fulfillment for sales generated by our clients' web sites as well as catalog and mail order fulfillment." We have the capacity of fulfilling up to 30,000 orders per day. Our facility is routinely audited by the American Institute of Baking (AIB) and we recently received a "Superior" rating for our entire operation.
Re-Delivery Service For Carriers in the Mid-Atlantic Region
Our new re-delivery service offers a major benefit for carriers who experience difficulty delivering their LTL product in the Mid-Atlantic region. "Carriers who can't unload on time or have issues making a delivery can drop their frozen or refrigerated product at our warehouse," said Kevin McVey, Director of Business Development. "We will re-appoint the delivery and re-deliver the shipment in a timely manner."
